Frequently asked questions

Where do the reminders come from?

Reminders are planned by your phone itself; they don’t go through any server. They arrive on time even with the app closed and without internet. From the notification you can mark the dose as given or snooze it for 15 minutes.

A reminder didn’t arrive. What can I do?

Check that notifications are allowed for PetCare Tracker in the phone settings and that Dose reminders is on in the app’s Settings. On Android, battery optimization can delay notifications – turn it off for PetCare (Settings → Open app settings). Also open the app now and then: reminders are planned about two weeks ahead and topped up whenever you open it.

Can more people use the app for the same pets?

Yes, on one shared phone: add family members or a pet sitter under Settings → Caregivers. The app has no server, so it does not sync between phones. To hand over a shift, use On duty today – it sends a summary as a message. See Caregivers and shift handoff.

How do I move my data to a new phone?

On the old phone choose Settings → Export a backup and save the file (iCloud Drive, Google Drive, e-mail). On the new phone use Restore from backup. The backup includes photos and documents. Details in Backup and moving to a new phone.

Can I send my pet’s history to the vet?

Yes. In the pet’s profile open Records → Export full history. The app creates a PDF and you send it however you like. See Vet, records and the emergency card.

Why doesn’t the app need an account?

PetCare Tracker has no server and no user accounts. Everything you enter stays on your phone and works fully offline.

Does the app replace my vet?

No. PetCare Tracker helps you organise care. It does not replace advice from a veterinarian.
